Coins are produced using the HOLOGRAM technology with a drawing of the wind rose. The series includes coins: Sedov (2008); Dar Pomorza (2009).
"Amerigo Vespucci" is a three masted sailing vessel of Italian Navy. Its owner is Academia Navale in Livorno and the home port is La Spezia on Ligurian Sea.
"Amerigo Vespucci" was built in 1931 in a former royal shipyard in Castellamare di Stabia. The vessel was designed in a classic 19th century style of a three-deck war frigate. In 1893, following its reconstruction, she served as a school ship. "Amerigo Vespucci" made numerous voyages on the Mediterranean Sea during her service, called at the ports in the United States as well as South and Central America. Currently, she participates in the Tall Ship Races.
The vessel has a steel hull which is 82.4 meters long, overall length (including the bowsprit) is 101 meters. The maximum width of the hull is 15.5 meters. The draught of the ship is 7 meters. The displacement at maximum load is 4,146 tones. The top speed with the engine propulsion is 10 knots. The autonomy (at the speed of 6.5 knots) is 5450 nm. An average speed under sail is approx. 4-5 knots. The three steel masts are 50, 54 and 43 meters high, respectively. Total sail surface area is 2,824 sq. m. "Amerigo Vespucci" is equipped with traditional canvas sails – square sails, staysails and jibs.
