ABOUT THE COIN

The snake is one of the wordls oldest and most widespread mythological symbols and  ranks sixth of all the animals in the Chinese zodiac. People born in the Year of the Snake are the most intuitive, even while remaining the most private and reticent. The coin depicts a colour printed Harlequin Coral snake with distinctive black, gold, and red banding. The image is backed by an engraved Chinese symbol for "Snake".

The obverse of the coin features the Raphael Maklouf effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, along with the year of issue (2013) and the denomination of $1.
