The Mint of Poland is proud to present the "Rostock" coin, in the special series of commemorative coins called the "Hanseatic Towns". The theme of the collection are the towns and the cities of the Hanseatic League actived in the Middle Ages and in the early modern period. The Hansa was an alliance of trading towns located along the coast of the North and Baltic Seas, established to promote economic cooperation. Ultimately the Hansa lost its importance as a result of the great geographic discoveries and the institution of sea routes connecting Europe with America and India.
The mintage of coin is limited- up to 8,000 pieces, struck on silver blank of Ag 925, in proof quality.
In addition to Rostock the series features the following coins: Slupsk, Nowogr6d Wielki, Szczecin and Polotsk.
Nice and perfect gift!
