The Mint of Poland is proud to present a series of commemorative coins, the "Butterflies". The collection features the most beautiful and inique butterflies of Europe and world. The coins in the series have a limited mintage, an original design and an interesting theme. Thanks to the pad printing technique the images reflect the genuine butterfly colours.

"The Goiath Birdwing" (Ornithoptera goliat) is the second largest butterfly in the world. Extremely rare, lives in rainforests of New Guinea. Thanks to the pad printing technique the image reflects the genuine butterfly colour on the coin.

The Goliath Birdwing is the fifth coin in the series "Butterflies", which has already comprised the following coins: "Apollo", "Large Blue", Scarce Copper" and the "Old World Swallowtail".

The coins were struck on Ag 925 blanks in a low mintage - up to 8,000 pieces, in proof quality.
