The Children and Creativity commemorative coin is an expression of what an important place creativity holds in the world. To be human is to be creative. Children should be encouraged to be creative, because creativity is man’s most valuable quality. The 'Children and creativity' commemorative coin is a part of the 'Ethical collector coins' coin set.
Creativity contributes to man’s welfare and quality of life. Creativity may manifest itself as an ability to act in a purposeful and unusual way in new, surprising or dubious situations.
Creativity does not depend on profession or age – artists, engineers and small children may be equally creative. Parents can encourage children’s creativity by allowing them to discover what fascinates them the most.
The First Work by a Young Artist
In Finland, the Children and Creativity commemorative coin was the first coin whose theme was selected by the public. Over 1,000 visitors to Mint of Finland’s website voted for art student Roope Määttä’s design, Taivaanrannan tuolla puolen (Over the Horizon) to help choose the theme of the Children and Creativity commemorative coin.
According to designer Roope Määttä, the Children and Creativity commemorative coin depicts a moment when an impossible thing comes to pass and another goal is set. However, Määttä says that the commemorative coin also shows the importance of always remembering one’s roots.
Silver Coin THE CHILDREN AND CREATIVITY 2010 is a nice and perfect gift!
