“Painters of the World” is a unique international series of silver collector’s coins which was started in 2006.
This series is dedicated to the most famous painters of the world. All coins are rectangular and present individual images of the painters and chosen reproductions of their wonderful works, thanks to which each coin is to some extent a piece of art.
Pierre-Auguste Renoir lived in 1841-1919. He was one of the predecessors of Impressionism.
In his works he concentrated on portraits of children and women, nudes and still life. Within his almost 60-year career he painted about six thousand paintings. He was also a drawer creating rough drafts made with the use of various techniques. The painter represented a short while, he created a world of pure colors and full of harmonious forms. His style is characterized by a freshness of experience and a unique ability of their perfect reflection. “When I paint I want to be like an animal”, he used to say jokingly about himself.
